    Procedures to obtain the typical Sicilian granita at home:

    There are at least three ways to make the typical Sicilian granita at home with our mother's drinks or with our almond loaves. Let's start from the simplest illustrated here:

    First method

    If you choose the tastes of citrus fruits: mix the two elements well (mother drinking and water) with the help of a simple spoon, pour the mixture into a container that you will close with its lid, and put it in the freezer.

    If you choose the almond taste: melt the dough in 800 ml of water, adding it flush, little by little. Mix by helping you with a whisk or using an immersion blender, and if you prefer it you can add sugar (maximum 100 gr). Pour the mixture into a container that you will close with its lid, and put it in the freezer.

    Keep the container in the freezer for at least 10 hours, the time needed so that the mix of mother's drink and water is completely solidified, taking on the shape of the container.
    At this point, he pulls the container out of the freezer and, after leaving him for a few minutes at room temperature, he starts to scrape the solid mix with one
    Common kitchen fork to obtain a very fine grain. Scratch with the fork until the desired quantity is obtained and serve with the brioche.

    Second method

    If you prefer a more velvety consistency, once the preparation is solidified as illustrated in the first method, you can use a blender.
    In this case, however, we recommend that you make the mix freezes inside containers or smaller shapes (the classic shapes for ice cubes will be fine), in order to obtain frozen cubes (even in less time!) That can be easily inserted in the blender.

    Third method

    If you have less time available, we offer you another way with the same ingredients. Close the container with the mix and put it in the freezer; more or less each
    Half an hour, mix vigorously with a spoon, always scraping the frozen walls. Repeat this step until the granita has the consistency
    desired. If you prefer, before serving you can blend a little, especially if you forgot to mix frequently. So, in about 4 hours your granita will be perfect!

    You just have to take the right time and travel with the mind in the light and in the dilated time of the deep south!
